出生于浙江杭州,浙江是 围棋之乡,5岁半开始学围棋,一直学到小学毕业,学于杭州棋院,师从孙国梁,朱菊菲(职业5段),11岁左右获得杭州市青少年组第一和浙江省第二的成绩。

教学经历:

2011-2012年在浙江温州苍南棋院任职全职围棋教练,教导4个班级,两个初级班,一个中级班,一个高级班,学生年龄6-12岁。

教学风格:

和蔼,耐心,多用一些生活例子帮助学生了解围棋术语。

个人目标:

琴棋书画是中国传统文化,不仅仅是一门技术,里面深深蕴涵着做人的道理。围棋中厮杀是表象,真正内在的是“和”。也许只是一点点,如果能在小孩子心中种下“和”的精神,也许也是给他们种下了中国文化的种子。

学围棋的益处:

  1. 智力开发,训练逻辑计算能力,推理,帮助小孩养成先思后行的习惯
  2. 抽象思维培养,在脑海中计算棋盘的变化
  3. 观察力,围棋千变万化,越仔细观察的小孩越能发现对手的错误
  4. 计算力,学习一年左右的小孩可以熟练的运用9*9乘法口诀表
  5. 理解力,对老师讲解的知识通过实践理解并应用
  6. 专注力,小孩从13*13的小棋盘,一直到19*19的标准棋盘,对一盘棋的专注时间可以从15分钟到1个半小时

Go experiences and achievements
 I was born in a city called Hang Zhou, located in Zhe Jiang province, which was the hometown of Chinese Go. I started learning Go in elementary school, mentored by 
Professor Sun GuoLiang and Zhu JuFei (both of them were professional 5 Dan.

I was awarded the first place in teenage GO tournament in Hang Zhou and the second place in the province.

Teaching experience
I taught full time in Cang Nan school of Go in Wen Zhou, ZheJiang Province from 2011 to 2012. I was the teacher of four classes, which included two amateur classes; one developmental class, and one upper-level class. Students were 6012 years old. 

Teaching style 

TKind and patient,good at using examples in daily lives to help students memorize difficult terms in Go.

Personal goal
Go is one of the four Chinese traditional arts, but it's not solely an art for people to appreciate. The essence of Go includes the ways and means of living a healthy life both physically and spiritually. The "white shessmen" against "black chessmen" battle on the chessboard may seem cruel and brutal to some people, but the idea of serenity lies deep inside the world of Go. I want to plant the seed of serenity inside my students' heart. So that they can develop an unique appreciation of the traditional Chinese culture.
 

Advantages of learning Go
Learning Go aids various mental abilities such as the ability in logic, calculation, and reasoneing, which also helps children develop the habit of careful thinking before acting. Go also requires interpretation of any changes happening on the chessboard, which trains children's abstract thinking skills. 

Observation skill

 A keen observer always finds mistakes that his or her opponent makes.


Calculation skill 

One year of learning guarantees proficient applications of the multiplication table.

Heuristic skill

Understand and apply the knowledge acquired in class.

Level of concentration  

From the 13x13 small chessboard to the 19X19 standard chessboard, a student can prolong his or her time of concentration on a single task from 15 minutes to an hour.

Public Speaking Teacher: Joshua Williams

Education and Training:

-          Bachelor’s in Business with a major in Supply Chain Management.   

           University of Memphis

-        Master’s in Business -  University of Arkansas Fayetteville

Experience:  Mr. Williams has worked in the business world for the past 11 years. He has served as an Operations and Sales manager, National Accounts Manager, Regional Director, and currently senior Director. In his current role as Director of Customer Supply Chain for Bayer Consumer Health Care, he works directly with CVS CareMark, the largest Drug Retailer in the U.S.

Mr. Williams experience in public speaking is also quite extensive. In addition to giving presentations on a regular basis, he has been invited and featured as a guest speaker at multiple industry conferences and conferences. Some of the more notable guest speaker invitations were from Wal-Mart, CVS Caremark, Merck, University of Kentucky, and the University of Arkansas.

Mr. Williams also regularly speaks in church meetings, and has served in children’s church meetings for around 5 years.

Mr. Williams Teaching Philosophy:

One of the biggest keys to success in school or in work is effective communication and public speaking. This key to success is universal, and those that excel  in public speaking have more potential for success whether they are in academia, business, or in public service.

Although Mr. Williams is now considered an accomplished public speaker, he went through much trial and error to improve his speaking in public. This experience will serve as the basis of the curriculum for this class.

-       Practice, the first primary learning tool. This helps with:

o   Confidence

o   Connecting with the audience

o   Uncovers areas for improvement

o   Reading the audience.

-    Preparation, the second learning tool. This helps to:

o   Accelerate the effectiveness of practice.

o   Help the speaker to “envision” giving the speech

o   Teach the speaker to stay on point during the speech

o   Improve the speaker’s ability to communicate effectively.

Grace 获室内设计学士后,因对儿童教育感兴趣,在美国进修并获儿童普通教育硕士学位,迄今已在美国公立小学任教近二十年。Grace 对儿童绘画教育有系统和独到的认识和实践。在人们对小儿过早重视指导绘画技巧的当下,Grace 更注重小儿对形体和色彩的创造力与想像力的开发,认为技巧任何时期都可拾起,但小儿正值创造力与想像力的发育活泼期,随应这一发育特点因势施教,既保持儿童的学习热情,又使绘画有儿童特点, 以避免因过度强调技巧而扼杀创造力与想像力的发育。Grace顺应小儿认知过程与天性,并不过多强调线描基础,而是色彩与线描并举,让孩子一开始就接触颜料和调色,增加学习动力和丰富描绘层次。Grace 对国画也有相当的造旨。

 Ballet (3-6 years): Katie McIntyre

Ms.  McIntyre has been dancing for over 25 years. She grew up in Memphis. Danced at The Dance Academy of Bartlett. She was a dance major at the University of Alabama. She has taught at many studios in Alabama, Virginia, and Tennessee. She currently teach at Joy Mcdaniels Academy of Dance, Children’s Ballet Theatre, Germantown Performing Arts Center, and Shelby Farms. She has recently started her own dance company, The Memphis Movement. The dance styles she teaches and performs are jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, modern, contemporary aerial arts, and I sing!

Ms. McIntyre University of Alabama舞蹈专业毕业,从事舞蹈25年。曾在多州从事舞蹈教学。近年来,在孟菲斯地区从事儿童舞蹈教育和指导。Ms. McIntyre 热心儿童芭蕾教育,创办了芭蕾舞校并亲任校长。除芭蕾外,还教导爵士舞,现代舞等多种舞。

PreK---何艳华老师,本科毕业于天津师范大学英语专业,研究生毕业于南开大学汉语国际教育专业。先后在中美从事英文和中文教学工作十余年。何老师早年在天津教授大学英语视听说,英语四六级语法等课程。同时,担任高校国际交流处外事协调工作,负责学校留学生以及本校师生的外访工作,曾在达沃斯经济论坛中担任阿尔巴尼亚住中国使馆随团协调翻译。何老师热爱语言教学工作,着重

兴趣培养和习惯养成。在孟菲斯先后教授5-12年级中文,课堂活动灵活多样、内容难度递进有度,亲和力强,深受广大师生喜爱。

 

学前班---霍卫红老师,Highland中文学校学前班中文老师8,有尽职尽责的工作态度及与幼儿相处的工作经验经历。在教学中认真备课,课堂上结合每个幼儿个性,基础,调整教学方法,激发孩子们学习的动力和兴趣,力求做到寓教于乐。以老师、朋友、母亲的身分送走又迎来一批批可爱的孩子……喜欢孩子爱孩子,旨在让孩子在我班上快乐充实,爱上中文!

 

一年级A---张纹云老师,现任中文学校一年级中文老师。新生入学刚开始进入正规教学,面临大量要掌握的知识,极具挑战,需要一个适应阶段,针对这个特点课堂上推行学与玩并行,希望能激发同学们的学习兴趣与热情。同时在不增加负担的情况下适当进行古诗教育,学习经典优美词句,建立对中国文化深层次的认识,培养良好的学习习惯,为进一步提高打下基础。 

 

一年级 B---陈怡娟老师,出生于中国普通话培训基地吉林省长春市,普通话标准。毕业于长春理工大学,会计本科学历,管理学学士,取得了国际通用的《ICLTA国际汉语教师高级资格证》。来美前曾在英语培训机构任汉语老师,从事对外汉语工作,专业的教学水平及生动的教学方法多次获得学校的认可和学生的好评;曾担任文化传播公司董事,负责培训企划及对港澳、东南亚参赛选手进行标准普通话口语培训。现任HIGHLAND学校中文老师,性格热情开朗,对孩子富有爱心,擅长灵活的运用双语教学,利用新鲜有趣的教学方法让学生们寓教于乐,希望通过教学工作传播汉语文化。曾利用业余时间兼职模特,儿童烘焙老师,并多次获奖。

Sunny Chen was born and grew up in Changchun, Jilin Province, where the Chinese mandarin training center was located. Before Sunny came to the States, she had been teaching Chinese as foreign language in several training institutes. Her unique and professional teaching style has earned her countless positive feedback from both students and colleagues. As a mum of two kids, she is enthusiastic and empathic in teaching and inspiring children. She hopes her engaged teaching style would make Chinese learning a fun and joy.  Ms. Chen is not only a good teacher, but also a charming lady with a variety of hobbies. She used to be a part time model and a prize-winner of baking teacher.

 

二年级---梁瑛娟老师,生于北京,毕业于北京联合大学。普通话标准,流利。热爱教育,热爱中国文化,自2008年起在Highland中文学校担任中文教师。也曾担任Riverdale中文学校七年级的老师。来美后,一直努力思考如何传播中文和中国文化。自己的女儿在Highland中文学校从Kindergarten到七年级毕业,学完了全部课程,一直保持了优异的成绩,保持了比较好的听说读写能力。对女儿的培养经历,结合在两所中文学校的任教经历,使我对学生、家长和教材有了越来越深入的了解,积累了比较多的经验。针对孩子们的特点,采取灵活多样的教学方式,激发孩子们的兴趣,培养他们的自信心。坚信每个孩子体内都蕴藏着巨大的潜能。看到孩子们的巨大进步和不断突破,感觉特别欣慰。目前是学校董事会成员,并被任命为负责中文教学的Academic Director。愿继续为孩子们的成长和学校的发展献策献力。

 

Ms. Yingjuan Liang was born in Beijing and graduated from Peking Union University. She speaks standard Mandarin. She loves Chinese language and Chinese culture. She has been serving as a Chinese Language teacher in Memphis Chinese School (MCS)-Highland since 2008. She also served as a 7th grade teacher in Memphis Chinese School-Riverdale for 2 years. Her daughter took Chinese courses from Kindergarten to 7th grade in MCS-Highland and graduated with a satisfied ability in reading, writing and speaking. Ms. Liang has accumulated experience in teaching Chinese through the work in both schools. She believes that every child has greater potential than we expected. She utilizes various ways to teach and encourage her students. She is proud of her student’s progress and confidence. She now serves as a board member and the Academic director of MCS-Highland.

 

三年级----王莺老师,2000年开始至今,我就在中文学校教中文。最初采用的是暨南大学出版的中文教材,然后改用马立平的中文教材。我教的学生年龄都在910岁左右,二年级和三年级都教过。最近几年,我一直专注在三年级的中文教学上。我非常热爱中文学校,热爱儿童中文教育!

 

四年级---李洋老师, 生在中国长在中国。从小就喜欢散文诗歌而且热衷于朗诵表演。在小学时深得老师的栽培和鼓励,经常参加诗朗诵比赛并获得多次奖状。这些为今后的文学素养的培养奠定了很好的基础。长大后毕业于东北师范大学,主修生物,辅修英语。在校期间除了学习专业课程外还系统学习了教育学,心理学和教学管理课程。毕业后有机会报效祖国从事教育事业5年。在这5年期间里勤勤恳恳专研教学方法,曾获得一次全省优秀青年教师证书,一次全市青年教师公开课大赛一等奖等殊荣。所有这些努力为我的教育教学积攒了丰富的经验。

 

Education and Training: Bachelor with major in Biology and minor in English in Northeast Normal University, and systematically studied Education, Psychology and Education Management.

Experience: worked in education in China for 5 years. Joined Memphis Chinese School with love of education for 18 years when the school founded.

Ms. Li was born and grew up in China, and speaks standard Mandarin. She loves Chinese literature and was fond of recitation at early ages. She received many awards in those literature performance, thus established her unique and solid foundation for her later Chinese teaching career. After graduation from college, Ms. Li found an opportunity to engage in education and worked on it for 5 years. During this period, she was awarded an Excellency in Teaching for Young Teachers at provincial level, and an Excellency in Example Teaching Competition in municipal level. All these experiences shaped her into success in teaching. Ms. Li started teaching at MCS 18 years ago when MCS was just founded, a career she loves the most. Throughout these years, Yang has earned the respect and love from all her students and MCS staff. She spends a lot time designing the teaching for specific needs of her students. She always adjusts the procedure to inspire the children’s interest of learning in the class. ‘Learning can be fun’, she always says to her students.

 

五年级---李立源老师, 中国出生,从小热爱中华文化并受过完整的中文教育。曾在大学担任生物化学专业课讲师和兼职学生辅导员,所负责的班级被评为大连市以及辽宁省优秀班级,而本人也获得优秀教师的奖励。其后获得日本文部省奖学金而留学日本,获得生命科学博士学位。虽然博士毕业后来到美国后一直从事科学研究,她一直对曾经的教师经历念念不忘,有幸于2010获得机会到中文学校担任教师,得偿梦想。 六年间先后担任一年级和五年级的中文老师。李老师善于根据学生特点启发和激励学生的中文学习兴趣和热情,并且能够很好的运用汉语和英语两种语言和学生沟通,使生于美国的孩子能够更好的理解中文和中国文化, 受到孩子们的喜欢。她非常以中文教师为荣:让学生学习和掌握中文,并且喜欢上中国文化。

Liyuan Li was born and grew up in China and received a complete Chinese education in China. She worked as a university teacher before studying overseas while being sponsored by a Japanese Government Scholarship. Her teaching experience in China was very fruitful: the class she supervised received the award as Advanced Class from both Dalian city and Liaoning province and she received a Teaching Excellence award. After she completed her Ph.D. in Japan, she came to Memphis and has been working as a scientific researcher for the University of Tennessee and St. Jude. Ever an enthusiastic teacher, she started teaching Chinese at MCS in 2010. She excels at communicating with U.S. born children using Chinese and English. She inspires her student’s interest in Chinese Studies using humor and competiveness which the students really respond to. She enjoys teaching very much and her students respond with admiration and respect which further inspires her students to master Chinese language and love Chinese culture.

 

六年级---王洪波老师,2002年起直到目前为止在Highland中文学校教中文,教过六年级和七年级。以六年级为主。从2003年起到2013Riverdale School 任中文课教师,曾教过四, 五,六三个年级,以六年级为多。毕业于中国人民大学,在京求学工作生活近二十年。

 

七年级---庄大明老师出生在吉林省吉林市(中国唯一的省市同名),2002年秋季开始教中文课;用过暨南大学出版社的一,二,三年级教材和马利平编写的五,六,七年级教材;现任七年级的中文教师。我在中文学校任课15年了,理念是让学生的听说读写全面发展,用毕业发言和作文说话!热爱中文教育,文化传播和传承。
