郑亚男毕业于孟菲斯大学MBA 专业，持有普通话乙级甲等证书。来美之前担当过 两年语文教师，计划和组织相关课程和活动，帮助学生发展口语阅读写作等能力， 教过一些香港学生学习普通话，让他们认识并热爱中国文化。确保学生在课堂上和 操场上的安全。能及时与家长沟通，履行分配的职责。擅长唱歌跳舞，能够积极活跃 课堂气氛。对待学生很有耐心。
李萌 (Chinese K)
Meng Li graduated from Hubei University and got her Bachelor and Master degree in English. She taught English for senior high school and Hubei University. She has been teaching Chinese in Campus School and Barbara K. Lipman Early Childhood School at the University of Memphis.
饶卓群 (Chinese 1)
Zhuoqun Rao, graduated from Wuhan University and got her master’s degree in teaching. She has been as a Chinese Language teacher in Pittsburgh and is teaching Chinese in Campus school at the University of Memphis. She has 3 main teaching principles :
- Make learning happier and easier.
- Make lessons useful to life and interest.
- Make more practice and mistakes are welcome.
明茂玉 (Chinese 2)
Maoyu Ming graduated from Huazhong Unviersity of Science and Technonlogy with Master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. She has been a Chinese teacher in Vongchawalitkul University ,Thailand and Hubei Univeristy, China and also taught English in New Oriental English School, China. She has been teaching Chinese at the University of Memphis unitl now.
吕永巧 （Chinese 3）
毕业于浙江教育学院，持有杭州市中小学教师资格证书和普通话乙级甲等证书。 2007年来美之前是杭州市西湖区的小学语文老师和班主任，有10年一线教育教学工作经验， 曾经荣获杭州市西湖区优秀班主任称号和优质课评比2等奖，担任学校语文教研组副组长。 2010-2017 年期间在芝加哥北郊希林芝北中文学校，负责马立平中文教材的教学工作， 多次指导学生参加世界华人学生作文大赛和侨报作文大赛，每年都有学生荣获一、二、三等奖， 被评为优秀中文指导老师。
生在中国长在中国。从小就喜欢散文诗歌而且热衷于朗诵表演。在小学时深得老师的栽培和鼓励， 经常参加诗朗诵比赛并获得多次奖状。这些为今后的文学素养的培养奠定了很好的基础。 长大后毕业于东北师范大学，主修生物，辅修英语。在校期间除了学习专业课程外还系统学习 了教育学，心理学和教学管理课程。毕业后有机会报效祖国从事教育事业5年。在这5年期间里 勤勤恳恳专研教学方法，曾获得一次全省优秀青年教师证书，一次全市青年教师公开课大赛 一等奖等殊荣。所有这些努力为我的教育教学积攒了丰富的经验。
2000年开始至今在中文学校教中文。最初采用的是暨南大学出版的中文教材，然后改用 马立平的中文教材。我教的学生年龄都在9，10岁左右，二年级和三年级都教过。最近几年， 我一直专注在三年级的中文教学上。我非常热爱中文学校，热爱儿童中文教育！
自2002年起直到目前为止在Highland中文学校教中文，教过六年级和七年级。 以六年级为 主。 作为六年级的教师，我的一贯教学宗旨是鼓励学生尽量多的掌握中文知识， 把它作为 一项重要的工具来学习。从今年起，六年级的教学目标不仅要求学生掌握必须的中文知识， 而且要求学生们对中国的文化传统也要有一个基本的了解。本学年起，六年级将把中华文化元素---- 书法引进课堂中来。把文房四宝介绍给学生们，并带领他们走进书法的世界里， 尝试书法的韵律和乐趣。相信学生们会有一种全新的体会和感受的。
生长在松花江边，春季歌舞夏游泳，秋天投篮冬举重，继承父母的专业(医学)， 在国内当过十年药理教师，在日本获得了博士学位，在瑞典做过博后，来到美国从事科研工作至今， 周末在中文学校教中文十五年，目前执教于马立平教材七年级，教学理念: 培养学生听说读写中文的能力和了解学习中国传统文化，教学目标:除了完成课本的内容， 会鼓励学生学习怎样介绍和导游中国的名胜古迹(颐和园、故宫、天坛、长城、兵马俑、黄山、 桂林山水等)，还要知道中国的传统节日和民族习俗，学习传承中国文化(国粹-京剧)! 教学方法:多样灵活趣味相结合，调动学生的积极性，增强学习的原动力。
Guiling Chang (Kung Fu)
Ms. Chang is currently a visiting scholar in University of Memphis Confucius Institute. She holds a faculty position in Kung Fu at Xi’an Finance and Economics College, Xi’an, China. She won several champions and numerous awards in international and national Kung Fu competitions between 1985 and 1994 in China. She also obtained several teaching awards due to her excellence in teaching Kung Fu.
Ray Chen (Go)
Mr. Chen is a Go coach. He holds a Go rank of Amateur Five Duan. He won the first place in teenage GO tournament in Hangzhou City, China, and and the second place in Province Zhejiang. He taught child Go classes full time from 2011 to 2012. He is good at using examples in daily lives to help students memorize difficult terms in Go. Learning Go aids in developing various mental abilities such as the ability in logic, calculation, and reasoning, and also helps children develop the habit of careful thinking before acting.
McKenzie Day (Ballet – 5-6 Years)
An experienced dancer, teacher, and choreographer skilled in sharing her passion for dance both physically and intellectually. An excellent team player who values collaboration and enjoys exploring new ways to solve problems. An organized, process-oriented individual who creatively and concisely relays information to various age groups with wide-ranging abilities. Allows students to explore dance as a means to understand their human anatomy, collaborate with peers, and creatively communicate ideas through movement.
Rachel Fan (Math - AMC 8/Math Counts)
Rachel Fan is a senior at White Station High School where she leads the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society, TED-Ed Club, and TEDxYouth@WSHS team. Throughout middle school, she participated in various math competitions. She placed 3rd individually in chapter Mathcounts, 4th in chapter Mathcounts Countdown round, and 2nd in chapter Mathcounts team round. She received the 6th highest score in the Mathcounts state competition and was school winner for AMC 8. In TMTA, she has ranked in the top ten for the west TN region in Geometry, Algebra 2, and Calculus and Advanced Topics. In teaching this class, she aims to help students learn and develop the skills they need to enjoy and succeed in competitive math and problem solving in general.
Annette Jacobson Frankel (English Essay Writing)
Mrs. Frankel is from Santa Monica, CA and has lived in suburban Memphis since 1988. She is in her forty-seventh year of teaching holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles and A Master of Science Degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction from The University of Memphis. She taught middle and high school English in California, Maryland, Illinois. and English/English as a Second Language in Japan, Portugal and at The University of Memphis. Her professional affiliations include Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities and Kappa Delta Pi, an International Society in Education. She has been published in CALIFORNIA MEN'S STYLIST magazine and WESTWORDS, a literary journal. Other achievements include the presentation of research papers at The University of Tennessee, The University of Georgia and The University of Mississippi. In addition to teaching at Memphis Chinese School, Mrs. Frankel tutors English and English as a Second Language, Pronunciation, American culture for foreigners. and does editing for private parties as well as corporate clients.
Wang Wei， a Chinese Language teacher in Campus School at the University of Memphis. Graduated from a top university in China. Lecturer for English majors in a foreign language university for six years. Excels in finding the most common and comprehensible way to explain cultural differences. Started her Mandarin teaching overseas in March 2013 to students form elementary to tertiary schools and community interest classes. Her teaching in pronunciation, characters as well as cultures has been well tried and enhanced. She likes to study Chinese old thoughts and the east-west differences. Four literary translation publications for young adult.
Patsy Lane and Charlotte Lane (General Music 5-10 Years)
Teachers for Music will be Mrs. Patsy Lane and Miss Charlotte Lane. Years of teaching experience for both includes multiple ages in classroom settings and private lessons. They are members of the National Association for Music Education, Tennessee Music Education Association, and the American OrffSchulwerk Association, and they attend professional development conferences. Mrs. Lane has a Master of Music degree from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Science and Music Education from the University of North Alabama. Miss Lane has a Master of Arts and Teaching degree from Harding University and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Memphis. Joyful and creative experiences are planned to enhance learning about music, and as stated by Plato, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
Grace Lin (Art 1)
Mrs. Grace Lin, who earned her Bachelor Degree in Interior Design and Master Degree in Education from U.S, has been in art teaching for more than 15 years at elementary school level. Her teaching philosophy is to apply different methodology and techniques in arts to her students that can motivate her student interests and developing their creativity in arts. She has been exposed to various arts, including sketch, water color painting, oil painting, Chinese painting, sculpture, ceramics and design. In addition, she learned Ling-nan School Chinese painting under a famous artist Lei-Sheng Huang in Taiwan for a number of years. Now she likes water color, acrylic, and color pencil painting during her leisure time.
Jin Huang Powell (Art – Enhanced Drawing & Sculpture)
Jin is an artist and sculptor. She graduated from the Sculpture Department of The Central Academy of Fine Art, the top art college in China, and holds a master’s degree in Arts from Memphis College of Art. She has held many exhibitions and earned numerous awards in her career. Her artist statement: “My art is about people, their lives, and their experiences. The intent of my work is to express an emotion, thought, story or journey. My work becomes a mirror where the viewer is reflected in the reflection, and same time speaks about my interpretation and perceptions. My master teacher and friend, Qian Shao Wu, always tell me, “The eye sees only what can be seen. The heart sees what is invisible. Yang Qi (Chinese for Business)
Ms. Qi has fond of cultural exchange and communication. She received her Bachelor in English (major) and International Trade (minor) at Zhejiang University and PhD in Education at University of Florida. She loves Chinese culture and was well trained in Chinese language and communication in English. She has sound experience in teaching with an inspiring class management style. It is her desire that motivates students’ interest to learn and practice Chinese in the class. Ms. Qi’s background has made her a best fit for the position in which students are more likely businessmen or travelers with strong interest in China.
Lisa Rowe (Yoga)
Lisa retired from the US Navy after 26 years of service in April 2008. She continues to work with the US Navy as a Government Service employee at the US Navy base in Millington. After she retired from the Navy she fell in love with Yoga. November 2009 she received her 200-hour teaching certificate from Sarla Nichols the founder of Midtown Yoga Studio in Memphis. Since then Lisa has continued to practice yoga daily or attending yoga workshops or traveling to yoga retreats. Lisa has taught over 500 hours of yoga and been teaching for the MCS since 2015. She teaches at Midtown Yoga Studio and at the Living Well St. Jude staff. Lisa is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor.
Michael Wang (Math)
Michael Wang is a senior computational biologist at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Michael has a passion for teaching and working with children. He has been with Memphis Chinese School for 4 years. The courses he previously taught include SAT/ACT Math, ACT Science and AMC10. In the past four years, he was also the math club coach for middle school students at Lausanne Collegiate School.
Joshua Williams (Public Speaking/Effective Communication/Presentation)
Mr. William holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business. He has worked in the business world for the past 11 years. He has served as an Operations and Sales manager, National Accounts Manager, Regional Director, and currently senior Director. He has extensive experience in public speaking. He has been invited and featured as a guest speaker at multiple industry conferences and symposiums. Some of the more notable guest speaker invitations were from Wal-Mart, CVS Caremark, Merck, University of Kentucky, and the University of Arkansas. Mr. Williams also regularly speaks in church meetings, and has served in children’s church meetings for around 5 years.
Changzhi Yu (Art 2)
Mr. Yu has taught as a professor at Jilin Art College in Changchun of China for about twenty years. Between 2001 and 2003, he studied at the Memphis College of Art for his Master Degree of Fine Art. Graduating from the Memphis College of Art, he worked at the Center for Southern Folklore for ten years as an art director and a photographer. Since 2001 he has been teaching art class at the Memphis Chinese Language Art School. He has also taught Chinese painting at the after school program at the Presbyterian Day School, as well as the summer campus at the University of Memphis Confucius Institute. He has taught many courses at the Memphis Chinese School for sixteen years, such as cartoon, sketch, watercolor, and Chinese paint.
